Steve Smith

Director of Construction

As Director of Construction, Steve brings over 35 years of knowledge and experience, focusing on strategy and the client. Steve has worked in all phases of construction and project finances. He focuses on maintaining schedules, budgets, and communication with all team members to ensure success on every project. His background in construction is diverse spanning various types & scopes of construction. Steve’s experience in the construction industry comes from a hands-on approach starting as a young man in the industry. He has worked all over the United States with projects spanning into Puerto Rico.

Emilie Shaulis

Director of Project Management

As Director of Project Management, Emilie has over 2 decades of construction administration and project management experience. With Emilie’s history in the construction field, she works to guarantee that all stakeholders of the project are up-to-date and that the project is well documented.  Working hand in hand with all members of the construction team, she believes that communication is the overall primary element in a project’s success. She started in the construction industry as a temp to hire, learning all facets of the project from the ground up. From the beginning, Emilie experienced the love and pride of a project well done.

David Shaulis

Director of Field Operations

As Director of Field Operations, David brings to the team over a decade of supervision and construction management. David first started as a construction superintendent bringing with him the knowledge of project implementation; studying a set of plans and taking them through to project completion. He provides leadership to all members of the project team and works together with Owners, Architects, and Subcontracted Vendors. His focus is on maintaining budgets & commitments, keeping the projects on schedule, and working to ensure that all team members have the needed tools for the success of each project.

Mark Wright

Ministry Project Executive

Mark joined the S-B Construction Group team in 2019. After 36 years as a lead pastor, Mark felt called to take his ministry to his next significance.


Mark came with a passion for cultivating relationships with our clients and a history of valuable experience in building churches. 


Over his career, Mark led the construction of six church facilities, acquired three properties, organized eight capital campaigns, and developed a master plan for a successful church relocation. 


With his experience as a pastor, he understands the client's “side of the desk.”  Having served on multiple church building teams, Mark brings valuable wisdom and understanding to the process. He excels at helping clients see their vision come to fruition. 


Mark has been married to Sarah since 1983, and they have three kids, three in-luvs (two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law), and four grandkids.
